Dear Peter,

 

A line to thank you very much for inviting me to the first performance of your MASS in C.       Congratulations on a wonderful achievement.   You assembled an excellent choir, orchestra and group of soloists and brought the best out of them. However, apart from that, there was the extraordinary feat of writing and producing the work itself.

 

It was quite clear that your audience was captivated, and i do hope that you yourself had a real sense of fulfilment. It was a tremendous to be at a performance where it was so obvious that the composer not only cared deeply for the use of latin as a medium for singing, but for what the words conveyed

 

St Mary's was a wonderful setting for the work and it was a delight to see it so full for the occasion.

 

Thank you so much again for inviting me. I trust that you had a very happy Christmas, and I hope that 2008 will continue to see your remarkable talent flourish.
